WASHINGTON D.C. Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, recognized the significant contributions of David Mullon, Minority Staff Director and Chief Counsel for the Committee as he prepares to depart the Senate. Mr. Mullon will join the National Congress of American Indians as Chief Counsel.
Mullon served under five Senate Indian Affairs Committee Chairs, and worked closely with his Democratic colleagues.
“We are fortunate to have a bipartisan environment on this Committee as we work together to find ways to improve the lives of Native Americans,” Cantwell said. “David’s leadership and comprehensive understanding of the issues will be missed. He worked closely with leadership from both parties on a number of important issues for Indian Country including health care, energy, self-governance and sovereignty.”
