Senate Indian Affairs Committee to Hold Confirmation Hearing on Nominee for Director of Indian Health Servce

WASHINGTON DC –
SENATE INDIAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO HOLD CONFIRMATION HEARING ON NOMINEE FOR DIRECTOR OF INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND), Chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, announced the committee will conduct a confirmation hearing Thursday morning, February 7 at 9:30 AM for Robert McSwain, President Bush’s nominee to be Director of the Indian Health Service.
If confirmed, Mr. McSwain would serve a term of four years. He has served as Acting Director of the Indian Health Service since September 2007. President Bush nominated him to be the Director on December 19.
