Salazar to Outline Priorities at Committee on Indian Affairs Hearing

WASHINGTON DC –
Chairman Byron Dorgan (D-ND) announced Tuesday the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs will conduct a hearing Thursday, February 12, at which Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar will outline his policy priorities for Native Americans. The hearing begins at 9:30 AM and will take place in Room 628 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C.
Salazar heads the federal department which includes the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Indian Education, the Office of Special Trustee, and several other federal agencies responsible for managing federal initiatives that seek to carry out the U.S. treaty and trust obligations to tribal governments and individual Native Americans.
